For Nick, using the law to help achieve client objectives is more than just a job, it’s a tradition.
Nick’s grandfather, David A. Rhoten, was a long-time Oregon lawyer, and his great-grandfather,
George A. Rhoten, was a founder of the Salem law firm Rhoten, Rhoten & Speerstra in 1927.
Nick is proud to continue the family tradition of providing excellent legal service.
Nick attended the Willamette University College of Law, where he graduated with honors in
2020. During his time at Willamette, Nick worked as a law clerk for both a plaintiffs’ firm and a
defense firm, giving him a balanced perspective and an early start on litigation experience.
Before law school, Nick worked in public affairs, including as a staffer in the Oregon Legislature
and on various electoral races. Additionally, he was a student-athlete at Linfield University,
receiving a bachelor’s degree with a double major in history and Political Science, while also a
member of the football team.
During his free time, Nick enjoys traveling around the Pacific Northwest to discover new hiking
trails, going snowboarding, attempting to become a better golfer, and cheering on the Green Bay
Packers and Portland Trail Blazers.
